PR Is Still Key for Growing Companies, but It’s Changed

Posted on July 7, 2025 by admin

INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Jennifer Fortney.

On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price interviewed Jennifer Fortney, Founder of Cascade Communications.

They discussed that public relations is still one of the most affordable ways to build credibility, curiosity and website traffic for B2C and B2B businesses, but Jennifer says founders and CEOs need to change their expectations about what PR looks like today.

As the national media industry has changed, it’s given rise to more opportunities to reach target audiences and customers more directly. She offered ideas of what founders and CEOs should be valuing and said this strategy is actually more meaningful for generating awareness and creating growth.

Jennifer Fortney is founder of Cascade Communications, an integrated marketing and PR agency in Chicago. It is consistently named a top agency for startups and her an influential startup PR professional globally. She has worked with corporate brands, led and continues to lead strategies for startup to mid-sized B2C and B2B businesses around the world.

She is a University of Kansas Journalism graduate, was a broadcast news writer, ran integrated marketing programs and worked in corporate PR firms before launching Cascade Communications in 2001. She is a speaker, guest lecturer, expert contributor and author. Her new book “Be a Media Magnet” is coming out soon and will be available on Amazon.
