Meet Mark Kinnebrew: One of the Best Trainers/Coaches in the Game

Posted on June 30, 2021 by David Jackson

Basketball may be viewed by many as a simple hobby, an activity, or even a pastime. Yet, for some, basketball is a way of life. There are people who devote their time and effort to master the craft of basketball and aspire to become the best in the game. Although there are a handful of people who are fortunate to fully develop their skills and join leagues, there are those left dejected after crushed dreams. However, there is always a silver lining in everything that happens in life. This is something Mark Kinnebrew can attest to.

Mark Kinnebrew is a certified trainer of I’m Possible Training (IPT)  who is known as one of the best trainers in the United States and is currently based in North Dakota. He is also the CEO of IPT North Dakota and the founder of IMPACT Basketball. He has recognized the necessity to educate young aspiring players to become the best versions of themselves inside the court. He started coaching in 2002 with a great focus on the skills enhancement of players rather than keeping tabs on leads and scores. In doing so, he guarantees that his trainees will be able to maximize their potential in basketball. Aside from training, he also offers his expertise to other basketball trainers in creating businesses of impact as the founder of Kinnetik – Court To Cash.

From Player to Coach

Since he was a child, Mark already loved playing basketball and everything about the game. His basketball career looked promising in high school and he even received an athletic scholarship for college, but this was not the end goal for Mark at that time. He has always wanted to play professionally. It seemed as if this was going to be the trajectory of his future because, for two summers, he was invited to participate in training and programs spearheaded by the NBA. However, coaches and scouts frankly revealed that he has not reached the skill level required to play for the league. Although he felt dejected at first, he found a different path in the field of basketball through coaching & training. Knowing that he had the necessary competencies to teach others how to play well on the court, he aspired to breed a new generation of players.

For starters, he coached/trained his own children for several years in Y ball and travel ball. Even after his kids grew older, he still wanted to coach and stay part of the game. His plan was to go back to school to finish his teaching degree and become a coach in the school system. One day, he stumbled upon a YouTube video that Micah Lancaster commented on and his comment caught his attention. With his curiosity, he searched about Micah and everything that followed is history.

Almost six years later, Mark and Micah became close friends and Micah also served as his mentor. At present, Mark is a certified trainer of I’m Possible Training (IPT)  and is known as one of the best trainers in the Country and is currently based in North Dakota. He is also the CEO of IPT North Dakota and the founder of IMPACT Basketball. He has built his own 7,200 sq. ft training facility, traveled all over, and worked with a number of professional players. Moreover, he has a Facebook group with 1,700 other trainers, whom he is helping to become successful trainers as himself.

If you want to know more about Mark Kinnebrew and learn from one of the best in the game, you can reach him through Twitter and LinkedIn. You can also visit his website and the I’m Possible Training North Dakota page.
