The primary issue in the 2024 presidential election will be which candidate will preserve “democracy.” Biden will emphasize this issue because his record on crime, inflation, national security and the border are not helpful. He will argue Trump’s dictatorial ambitions and horrid January 6 conduct. Trump, on the other hand, will strongly contend that the sloppy, insecure election of 2020 is the real danger to democracy if it is replicated. Who will win this argument? Much, as always, depends upon our media. This election will be nothing if not interesting.
