Fastest Exit Helps Couple after Getting Scammed by Mexican Resort

Posted on April 20, 2021 by The Times USA News

Lewis and Patricia got an invitation to a complimentary vacation stay in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico if they agreed to attend a 90-minute presentation. They went for the holiday, hoping that they would not sign up for any offers they were being presented. Their vacation did not go according to plan.

When Lewis and Patricia arrived at the presentation, they vowed to decline any offer from the timeshare company . However, Patricia recalls what convinced her to change her mind about this timeshare. They had presented this as different from the “traditional timeshare” she was thinking about. The length of the presentation  also wore the couple down.

“The salesman said this was like a membership that would let us vacation where we  we wanted. We initially refused, but after several hours in the meeting, we decided to sign whatever because  we wanted to just leave. We didn’t give it much thought, and we just took the offer that seemed like the best to get us out of there. They even asked us where we would like to go, and we told them that we wanted to go to Israel. They promised us free airplane tickets to get there if we bought the vacation memberships.”

They were offered several perks (in addition to the airline tickets to Israel)  which included a cruise package and a free week at a resort in Fort Lauderdale. They could only get them if they decided to buy the timeshare that day. It didn’t take too long for the couple to realize that this was only a scam to get them to buy into the timeshare program.

“The timeshare has become more of a curse than a blessing. We planned to go to Cancun, but we were told we didn’t have enough points, so we had to wait for a certain time. It was the wrong time of the year, or everything was fully booked. Before we could take a trip, we had to reserve something a year before, we were told.”

The couple realized that apart from being unable to take the trips they wanted, they spent about $7,500 every year in maintenance and exchange fees. They needed to find a company that specialized in Mexican timeshare exits.

“This may work for some people, but I didn’t see how this would work for us because we have to work a lot just to get the bills paid. And on top of that, we can’t go wherever we want to go. It’s not worth the $22,500 we spent over the last three years. We have no plans to throw our  money away.”

After hearing about Fastest Exit from their friend, Lewis decided to give them a call. He reached out to the team and began the timeshare cancellation process. Lewis and his family are now free from the burden of owning a Mexican timeshare that did not deliver on what it promised.

“I was glad we were able to help them in time,” said Gilbert Barraza, timeshare exit specialist, “Lewis is set to retire soon and our main concern was making sure he was able to. We hit our goal and I made him promise me to never go on another timeshare presentation again.”
