Widespread Foreclosures, Permanent Job Losses Loom Large for Hotel Industry

Posted on July 9, 2020 by admin

INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Chip Rogers.

On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price visited with Chip Rogers of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
Four months into the COVID-19 pandemic, America’s hotels are struggling to survive. Chip Rogers, president and CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), (www.ahla.com) will discuss the challenges facing the hotel industry during this crisis. Six in ten hotels in the U.S. are small businesses. Hotels of all sizes are struggling to service their debt and keep their lights on, especially those with commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loans that cannot obtain debt relief. Without government action, the hotel industry is facing mass foreclosures and permanent job losses, which will have a ripple effect throughout the economy.
