Best Apps for Working from Home

Posted on May 21, 2020 by David Jackson

More organizations and businesses are requiring people to work from home now than ever before. While there are many advantages to working from home, there are challenges too. You may want to be productive but may lack the software that allows you to communicate remotely with others in a secure environment. Thankfully, the internet has lots of home productivity tools that can keep you focused and make it easier to communicate with your coworkers.

Google Drive

Google Drive is undoubtedly one of the best apps for working from home. Google Drive gives you 15GB of online storage space after creating a personal account. It is enough space for storing important files, which can be shared with your coworkers by sending them a link or email invite. Any of your team members can also edit Google Sheets, Google Docs, and all types of documents in real-time.

Trello

When you need to organize and keep track of your team members, Trello is the best app for that purpose. Trello can be used to manage projects by categorizing tasks. You can organize all your tasks by level of importance or completion, depending on what makes sense for your workflow. You can also set due dates, assign members to tasks, and attach any relevant documents or files.

Zoom

Meeting face to face just got a little easier with Zoom. It is a group messaging and video conferencing tool that allows you to conduct virtual online meetings in High definition with up to 1,000 participants. It also allows you to change your background image and touch-up your video appearance, making it one of the most popular video conferencing apps today.

TeamViewer

TeamViewer is a desktop support tool that enables you to connect remotely to another computer and take control of it over the internet. All the changes made are in real-time, and it’s also available as a smartphone app. TeamViewer is also multiplatform, with high-security features to protect you from hackers.

Skype

Nothing beats having an online video meeting with your team members via Skype. If you’re working from home, you can use Skype to receive and make video calls using your phone, computer, or tablet. Skype allows you to make one-on-one video calls or a group video call for up to 50 members.

If you’re thinking of working from home, ensure that you look for apps that will best fit your needs. Chances are you’ll get a solution that meets all your specific requirements. We’ve discussed some of the most popular apps for working from home that you can add to your personal favorites.
