They discussed the challenges of running an all-volunteer animal medical 501C3 non profit organization in a less populated state.
Jan Erceg is the founder and medical director of Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids, (CCCR). CCCR is an all-volunteer animal medical and surgical organization founded in 2008 and dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, neglected and abused pets residing in shelters and rescues across Iowa. Very few shelters and rescues in the state have the financial capability to care for medically challenged homeless animals. These are the pets that have suffered the most and are first to be euthanized due to the cost of treatment. Critter Crusaders steps in, providing all financial resources while working directly with the doctors on treatment plans and medical continuity. The goal for each pet patient is the return to health, happiness and adoptability. Restoring Broken lives, one pet at a time.
