Benefits Of Having Separate Front-End And Back-End Development

Posted on February 22, 2022 by The Times USA News

Mobile or web app development strategies have been consistently improving over the past few years. Software engineers are reaping the benefit of the advancement of technology to improve the infrastructure, bandwidths, and efficiency of the programs. Nevertheless, one question remains the same, i.e., should businesses deploy separate front and back end development?

Usually, different entrepreneurs have different opinions, depending on their business requirements and target audience. That’s why we have created the following two scenarios to understand the benefits of separate front and backend services clearly.

Scenario 1: A program is built using complete PHP- for both frontend and backend.

Scenario 2: A program is created using Angular as frontend and Ruby as backend.

  • Scalability

In simple terms, scalability is a system’s property of handling the growing work by deploying different resources. Considering the two scenarios above, improving scalability in the second scenario is feasible. The reason is that code is divided into two parts; thus, it is easier for a Backend Development Company to optimize the code according to your need. They can also use different numbers of resources at different speeds to improve the program’s overall performance.

  • Resource Optimization

From retrieving necessary data to making amendments in HTML format, developers need to do everything on their own in the first scenario. It will turn out to be a very long and costly process. On the other hand, servers only need to collect and send the raw data to the browser in the second scenario. Thereon, the work is handled by the second team to minimize the server’s work and improve the user experience. The whole process is divided into different parts, ensuring quality work in less time and cost.

  • Easy To Upgrade

Upgrading the framework of a program is surely a daunting task. Luckily, having separate support teams can reduce the overall burden. It will make it easier to debug the issue without affecting the overall functioning of the program. Not to mention, both the teams will also pay attention to issues on their part. It will ensure a smoother process and a better user experience.

  • Effortless To Switch Framework

It’s no surprise that technology is advancing very quickly. If you fail to pay attention to the latest trends and innovations, it will become challenging to remain competitive. For instance, you might need to change the frontend code completely to make your website run faster with the help of Python.

On the contrary, changing frameworks settings is much easier with separate front and backend frameworks. It reduces the total amount of work to a great extent, which also helps save time and resources.

  • Consolidation Of APIs

To stay competitive in the market, businesses provide different versions of code for different platforms such as websites, mobile operating systems, and more. In most cases, businesses need to provide the same information to all these apps; thus, they use the same type of codebase for each app.

Having an API (Application Programming Interface)- based website makes it easier for developers to make necessary changes. To be more specific, less code to deal with makes it manageable for developers.

Conclusion

These are some of the benefits you can reap by having a separate backend development. For the same, you can consider outsourcing services. Nevertheless, make sure to learn about your company’s requirements before making final decisions.
