Who Are America’s Greatest Basketball Players?

Posted on April 1, 2022 by The Times USA News

Basketball is one of the most loved sports in America and is one of the big three sports which include basketball, baseball, and American football. As most will know, the NBA is the world’s leading basketball league, and it also has a great betting scene with many different markets available to eager fans. Of course, some players might have restricted themselves from gambling, but they will be happy to know that even they can join in on the fun as there are many betting sites not on Gamstop that fans can easily access. The NBA generates revenue in the billions and has played host to many basketball greats, including Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Magic Johnson.

LeBron James

One cannot speak of basketball without mentioning LeBron James, who is often considered to be the best of all time. Arguably, there is simply no contest in basketball. LeBron is a freak athlete, in the nicest way possible. There is no doubt that he is almost a superhuman – he stands at 6’8 and weighs 250 pounds. Despite this, he can play in virtually any position on the court. As most basketball fans will know, this versatility is incredible for a player with his dimensions, and this is also a large reason why he is considered a great of the game. The cocktail of stamina, explosiveness, versatility, and agility makes him the perfect player, not just in basketball, but in most sports too. The stats that he has garnered speak for themselves; LeBron holds the record for all-time playoff and regular season points, so it is hard not to consider him the king of the game.

Michael Jordan

Another basketball legend is Michael Jordan. Jordan is known for his incredible, almost insatiable work ethic. His friends and teammates would often note how competitive he could be and would marvel at his desire to be the best at the game. Jordan would do this by keeping in peak physical condition and by practising techniques whenever he could. There is no doubt that his fierce competitiveness accompanied these traits brilliantly and the combination of these qualities transformed him into one of the best players the game has ever seen. He certainly has the records to back this notion up as he holds the best single-game performance ever in the history of the NBA, a performance that gives even LeBron James a run for his money.

Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson is another household name; such was his presence and dominance in the game. Before Johnson appeared in the 1980s, the NBA was suffering a period of stagnation. However, Magic exploded onto the scene with a signature style and charisma that had not yet been seen in the popular league and without a doubt, Magic was the leading reason why the popularity of basketball increased during the 80s. His size forever changed how the world looked at guards and even in his first season, Magic played centre and managed to drop an incredible 42 points, firmly cementing him as one of the all-time greats of basketball.

The NBA has birthed many talented players that have added excitement to the game thanks to their skill and physicality, but the likes of Johnson, Jordan and James will likely always have a permeant place in the sport’s Hall of Fame.
