INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Homer Hickam.

On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price visited with NY Times bestselling author and the force behind the popular movie, October Skies,” Homer Hickam.
In this important interview, Kevin Price of the Price of Business show discusses the story of a young boy growing up in the Appalachian coalfields who dreamed of building rockets during  1950’s America. That story became a hit Hollywood film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Laura Dern and Chris Cooper. “Rocket Boys” became required reading in schools around the world and it seems as if every substitute teacher in the country has shown “October Sky”.  “Rocket Boys” has inspired thousands of student rocket launches, a musical adaptation with its sights on Broadway, and been cited by both Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as an inspiration for their space exploration. After 21 years, the hard-cover edition of “Rocket Boys” is still in print — a fact that is nearly unprecedented. That book is a NY Times bestseller.
So, with all that success, why did it take author Homer Hickam over two decades to write the newly released follow up, aptly titled “Don’t Blow Yourself Up?“
According to a statement, “Find out with Homer Hickam, the award-winning author of 19 best-sellers, and former NASA engineer and astronaut trainer. “Don’t Blow Yourself Up” begins the afternoon after Homer’s final rocket launch in his hometown of Coalwood, WV, and follows Hickam across the decades for a series of amazing adventures, covering 40 years in 400 pages that are an astonishing and candid account of a life very well lived but also with its share of mistakes and, as the subtitle reveals, ‘travails.'”
